How to Fit an Acrylic Bath Panel

Marina Shower Side Panels

An acrylic bath panel is an excellent option if you want to make a small renovation in your bathroom.

Manufacturers don't make too many sizes of bath panels. If you have measured your bath and obtained the correct dimensions for your bath panel, fitting it shouldn't be too difficult.

Step 1

Start by pressing the panel onto the side of your bath. Make sure to note any pipes, skirting boards, or uneven surfaces. Make any adjustments needed to the panel.

Reposition the panel against the bath to ensure it fits properly. To ensure that the panel is straight and flush, use a spirit level.

Step 2

Next, you will need a piece of rebated timber for each panel you are fitting. These can be purchased or a piece of timber attached to a wooden batten.

Step 3

Use your spirit level to mark the panel's location against the floor. Then, use a pencil to mark the area with a pencil. Next, line up the timber piece against these marks. Allow enough time for the acrylic panel's bottom edge to be retracted.

As a guide, the pencil marks and bottom edge can be used. Adjust the wooden batten accordingly.

Step 4

You will need to screw the batten to the floor with an electric drill.

When using your drill, be sure not to damage wires or underfloor heating.

Step 5

Slide your acrylic panel under the bath rim and place it in place. Press the panel up against the batten to make sure it fits correctly.

You can also fit an end panel to enhance the look of your bath. Follow these steps.
